Ibiza is known to be the place to go if you want to party. However in the off-season you can get a new perspective of the island. During this season Ibiza is much quieter and less crowded. You can enjoy a perfect mix of relaxation and party-time. I spent one week on the third largest Balearic island in May last year and it was an extremely relaxed vacation. Have a look at my Ibiza guide and you will know the places I liked most on the island.

A walk along the beach promenade of Santa Eulària is so pleasant. You can find hip pubs, for example Caos, where you get the best homemade Sangria. But that’s not all, Eularia has a very beautiful old town with lots of nice bars and boutiques and a small but superb sandy beach.

Ibiza town

Trotzdem muss man alles mal probieren. Der schokoladen Macaron on top war allerdings grandios.

It’s also absolutely worth taking a stroll through Ibiza town and climb up to the castle. From there you have a wonderful view. At the port I enjoyed my first flower ice cream which is very famous there. I have to say that it did not taste differently or better but I always want to try new things. Nevertheless the chocolate macaron on top was delicious.

Hippi market

On Saturday we strolled along the Hippi market in Las Dalias. If you feel hungry you can have an excellent meal at Nam Nam right in the middle of the market.

Beaches

Ibiza Ibiza

Not to be missed: the beaches on the east coast. Best you rent a scooter or car to get there. You can find numerous wonderful bays and beaches such as Es Canar. The day we went to Mastella beach, unfortunately the sea was full of algae.
Ibiza’s largest sandy beach is Platja d’en Bossa and that’s where we stayed in a hotel. After a long walk on the beach it is very pleasant to relax in one of the numerous beach clubs.

Formentera

I absolutely recommend to make a day trip to Formentera! There are daily ferries between Ibiza and the small sister island. We found an excellent place to eat directly on the dune beach Playa de Illetes. It is a beautiful beach and the water is turquoise. Moreover it is less crowded compared to Cala Saona where we went too.
